2b1 Sounds

russRussell Rogers (band leader, composer, arranger, keyboard & saxophone)

Russell Rogers first began his musical journey under the leadership of the late Robert Robinson. He continued his education at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA where majored in music.

The 2B1 Sound is a combination of various styles and genres established in the early 80’s by Russell Rogers and Dale Jackson.  R&B, Smooth Jazz, Fusion, and Easy Listening are all infused into the Sound. Originally from Shreveport , LA , the duo performed with popular musicians from the area including Tommy Granville, Guitarist Ron Johnson, and Artis Cage. Eventually moving to Dallas in the mid 80’s, further evolution of the “Sound” continued. Deeper, darker and funkier grooves along with brighter and more intense arrangements became the trademark of the 2B1 Sound.

Today, 2B1 Sound (website: www.my2b1.com) is still churning out original music and tracks designed to keep the “hips hopping & the booty bouncing”.  Along with these sounds, through further collaboration with Tim Hall of StageFright Music & Video Productions, 2B1 Sound can be heard on the sound tracks of the following Blockumentary Pictures: “Fulgazi” and “HardRock”.  The Sound can also be heard as the music sponsor on the website www.Venuestogo.com, thanks to the support of  Teresa Taylor, and as the opening theme for the cable talk show “Good Vibrations with Voscia” hosted by Voscia Walker .  Three CD’s have been released from 2b1 Sounds and are all available at www.my2b1.com, www.myspace.com/2b1sounds, or at most live performances. The titles are:

  1. Too Be Or Not (1999)
  2. Emotions (2003)
  3. Joints Of Intimacy (2006)

Tim Hall (band manager, flute & trumpet)

Tim is a self-styled musician, photographer, and producer. Born in Louisiana, surrounded by a family of music lovers, Tim knew at an early age music would always be a part of his life. Capturing images of people, places and things inspired him to want to share with all who were interested. Tim eventually formed his own company, “StageFright Music & Video Productions, Inc. (website: www.stagefrightmvp.com), to bring his life-long dream of “collaborating with other aspiring artists” to a reality.  To his credit, Tim has produced three movies: “Ice Grill”, “Fulgaz,i  and "Hardrock".
