KarenJ & 2b1 Sound was established in 2002 when Karen Johnson met Tim Hall of Stagefright Music & Video Productions and Russell Rogers of 2b1 Sound and discovered each of them have a love for music and a burning desire to share it with family, friends and the general public. The meeting resulted in a collaboration of music that has served them well. The five-member band collectively has over 95+ years of music experience. Their music is a mix of smooth jazz, funk, R&B, pop and old school. KarenJ & 2b1 Sound’s play list includes original songs as well as standards and classics by artists such as Sade, Bonnie Raitt, Anita Baker, Randy Crawford, Angie Stone, Maze, The Isley Brothers, Simply Red, Michael McDonald, Denise LaSalle, Carly Simon, Chaka Khan and many more. The “KarenJ Live” Annual Free Concert in the Park at the Carrollton Amphitheatre was established in 2004 as a way for KarenJ & 2b1 Sound to give back to their many supporters. Audiences are amazed when they hear KarenJ’s sultry, yet powerful voice.
